Revelation 18 – The Final Impact

Today’s headlines continually convey details of the mysteries contained within the text of Revelation. Will you see it? In my interactions with people, I am very ‘guarded’ in what I say – eager to share and yet I know from my occasions with people, throughout my life, people do not wish to be confronted with or by uncomfortable things. Still, this is necessary for anyone to take up their cross and follow Christ as revelations of grace serve to fashion the troubles of today into a heart equipped to navigate eternity.

1 After this I saw another angel descending from heaven with great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his glory.
2 And he cried out in a mighty voice: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a lair for demons and a haunt for every unclean spirit, every unclean bird, and every detestable beast.
3 All the nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her immorality. The kings of the earth were immoral with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown wealthy from the extravagance of her luxury.”

One can envision any one of today’s modern cities – their offerings to visitors and residents. So much is appealing to our senses, yet within – sometimes hidden and sometimes overt – what freedoms we enjoy in the pursuit, in exercising such agencies God has given each are smothered.

Above, seeming normalcy characterizes the matters, affairs of the world’s merchants. Here we find sailors portrayed, navigating their courses of the sea – apparently devoid of any anticipation of what suddenly unfolds. Judgment passes upon those who ‘fed’ the system for perceived wealth.

4 Then I heard another voice from heaven say:

“Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins or contract any of her plagues.
5 For her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
6 Give back to her as she has done to others; pay her back double for what she has done; mix her a double portion in her own cup.
7 As much as she has glorified herself and lived in luxury, give her the same measure of torment and grief. In her heart she says, ‘I sit as queen; I am not a widow and will never see grief.’
8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day — death and grief and famine — and she will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”

‘My people’ of Abraham, or all people of Christ? The timing of the realization of this episode is not conveyed, but it is shown to John after the events of chapter seventeen. When it unfolds is thus unclear, but it will be after many if not all of the saints have been murdered. Thus it figures the battle of Armageddon, and so the next chapter distinctly regards God’s judgment upon all who led or were led to betray, to forsake the love of Christ.

9 Then the kings of the earth who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her will weep and wail at the sight of the smoke rising from the fire that consumes her.

I don’t like recalling the news of child exploitation by clergy, but it is relevant! Is Prince Andrew an anomaly? Is it so hard to confess this day?

I can relate, in context, one story as told to me by my brother – told to him several years ago now by a retirement-aged gentleman he encountered while waiting for a flight. The story regarded a ‘party’ – many years before – the man had been invited to, in California as I recall. There he noted Pierre Trudeau and his wife Margaret were attendant guests, and they were lewd in their conduct. I am simply relating such as he said, that in discovering this commotion involving VIPs he believed it best to leave, without delay. For so many it is too late to sidestep the clutches of hell…

I can attest that my brother does not tell tales, yet I have no first hand knowledge, so how could one know? Jesus taught that “Ye shall know them by their fruits [deeds]”, so we are genuinely to consider the acts and words of people for credibility, and believe or disbelieve as any evidence relates.

10 In fear of her torment, they will stand at a distance and cry out: “Woe, woe to the great city, the mighty city of Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come.”

11 And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, because there is no one left to buy their cargo12 cargo of gold, silver, precious stones, and pearls; of fine linen, purple, silk, and scarlet; of all kinds of citron wood and every article of ivory, precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13 of cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, and frankincense; of wine, olive oil, fine flour, and wheat; of cattle, sheep, horses, and chariots; of slaves and souls of men. 14 And they will say: “The fruit of your soul’s desire has departed from you; all your luxury and splendor have vanished, never to be seen again.

15 The merchants who sold these things and grew their wealth from her will stand at a distance, in fear of her torment. They will weep and mourn,
16 saying: Woe, woe to the great city, clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17 For in a single hour such fabulous wealth has been destroyed! Every shipmaster, passenger, and sailor, and all who make their living from the sea, will stand at a distance 18 and cry out at the sight of the smoke rising from the fire that consumes her. “What city was ever like this great city?” they will exclaim.

19 Then they will throw dust on their heads as they weep and mourn and cry out: “Woe, woe to the great city, where all who had ships on the sea were enriched by her wealth! For in a single hour she has been destroyed.

Yes, woe to any who placed comfort, excitement above the love of God! For all, myself included – Jesus died for us. Seek him while it is possible.

20 Rejoice over her, O heaven, O saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced for you His judgment against her.

Pay particular attention to this next section, for it is another testimony of an asteroid impact, and at the same time an allusion to Daniel chapter 2:

34 As you watched, a stone was cut out, but not by human hands [it was not earthly]. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay [the ‘internationalized’ outgrowths of Rome and Constantinople], and crushed them. 35 Then the iron, clay, bronze, silver, and gold were shattered and became like chaff on the threshing floor in summer. The wind carried them away, and not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that had struck the statue became a great mountain [Christianity itself] and filled the whole earth.

Compare this apocalyptic word with the following portion of John’s vision:

21 Then a mighty angel picked up a stone the size of a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying: “With such violence the great city of Babylon will be cast down, never to be seen again. 22 And the sound of harpists and musicians, of flute players and trumpeters, will never ring out in you again. Nor will any craftsmen of any trade be found in you again, nor the sound of a millstone be heard in you again. 23 The light of a lamp will never shine in you again, and the voices of a bride and bridegroom will never call out in you again. For your merchants were the great ones of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery [Greek: φαρμακείᾳ (from pharmakeuó) – to administer drugs].”

The Greek text of verse 23 warrants further scrutiny, for in part it reads, “the merchants [businessmen] of you were the great [powerful] ones of the earth” – this wording brings to mind video footage I have seen, of oligarchs and others presenting at the W.E.F. in Davos, Switzerland.

Addendum: So many policies have become a reality, recently, for this ‘sorcery’. Addendum: More are seeing, thank God, so it’s not too latebelieve it or not.

To administer vaccines? Employing one’s digital health certificate? It’s not coming, it’s here. Do you think this was an outcome of free deliberation? This was planned, and it precisely reflects chapter 13 – WHO certificates are assigned to each member nation, and the cryptographic keys will be used to sign (encrypt) each citizen’s identity ‘number’ under the nation’s administration. This will constitute a global ID, initially for use with QR code scanners (via a computer / cellphone) so as to certify a person’s identity. This will be required of citizens for interactions with the authorities: managing and accessing entitlements, travel documents (passports). The WHO will mandate vaccination compliance – compliance with the Great Reset / Agenda 2030 will, I expect, will require a global adoption of biometric ID as an NFC (near field communication) chip implanted in each person as seen here, in this example. A coming bioweapon release will settle the collective policy of ‘comply or die’ – i.e., in revisiting 13:15, for “all who refused to worship [obey] it [the image of the first beast] to be killed” Far fetched? No, it is emerging right now.

Please turn to Christ, right now!

24 And there was found in her the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who had been slain on the earth.

Understand: this is not an attack on Catholics. I personally know and love Catholic friends, yet this text is readily considered and it’s assertions attested.

Society had time to grow, to expand, to improve – but the priority of freedom was fleeting. Freedom is that which enables, makes life worthy of pursuit. Repeatedly human effort was directed to the consolidation of wealth, and with this wealth powercentralized power held to satisfy the goals of those who chose to be their own god – and still there is none righteous, no not one.
