– The Book of Revelation Manifest

1 Timothy 1:15

This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all.

For what to expect, please read on

Have you ever opened a Bible at some page hoping for guidance? Well, I have, but first I opened the book out of curiosity. That was many years ago. Many years indeed.

As the peoples of this world must largely agree, guidance is desired, but not expected. Instead we have to struggle to find what work we can in order to ‘make ends meet.’ Is there no time to live in this life? What of desire? We can run away from such questions, but that costs us – and others. Take a breath and clear your head – this might be difficult.

I can imagine, in whatever system it is we find ourselves, there being an oft-held response – ‘the Bible let me, let us all down – it wasn’t relevant, or meaningful – at least not to me.’ Heck, I often wonder if people simply lack the desire to ask (the) basic questions that would help provide context, understanding, meaning to life and living in this, our world. But my asking that question would be presumptuous, and serve no purpose.

The question itself, however, presumes one cares for an answer.

Dissatisfaction is, I assume, universal. ‘The Bible appears as just another complication. That’s it.’ Well, for one I am still in need of an understanding of and a connection with the things for which no one seems to possess an uplifting understanding. ‘Still looking, but not expecting.’ ‘I am tired of being disappointed.’

I suppose I am assuming a great deal by starting this way. I hope it helps for me to offer that I’m living a life in which I emerge, every day, from disappointment as well – but I am old enough to regard it as the unfolding of consequences stemming from and for my choices, and of those who played their roles in the system governing me. Well, this is where Jesus Christ comes in: I hope to share some words that can direct you to the cross of Christ, and thus a longing for the return of His Majesty, the Lord.

Well, if you are seeking the cross, don’t let me slow you down! Still, I share this anyway because we are well aware that ‘all things continue as they have’, at least in all the wrong ways. I am, of course, not speaking literally, but then again I may be. That’s life. Some appreciate the uncertainty, that it can at least distract, serve as a kind of ‘entertainment’, as a drama…

I expect most would like to have, as I do, the comfort of (the?) one affirming (and reaffirming) that it all – all of the effort exerted ‘simply’ in order to continue – that it is worthwhile. I guess I should let the sentiment etch itself into the reader’s mind, slowly. But, I suppose as well that there is too much to reflect upon, to disseminate for any delay with bombast.

It is worth it, or at least I strongly believe it must be. It needs to be. Point of fact, if you can muster tolerance for supreme uncertainty, you can risk living as if it is all worthwhile.

So now I will note these first steps upon this journey unto an examination of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Will it be worth it? Don’t trust me – whereas you don’t know me, that would be foolish. No, ‘simply’ trust Jesus. Have faith. I do because I must. Knowledge isn’t everything, but understanding can beget wisdom. The wisdom of Christ can impart life and can be life saving. It is given to be life-renewing, life in abundance.

Also, share in an assembly exploring the text – read and visualized, a fine presentation of God’s grace working in, by, and through His loving presence.

~ thank you, merciful Saviour.

Addendum: Whether or not you yet believe in Christ, I sincerely hope you will be aware of what is unfolding in our world. Where to begin? For the people of this generation, in the little time that’s left, please read chapters 12 and 13 – the holocaust and the ‘mark of the beast’. It is the craziness of human history self-terminating and there is no escape. Turn to Christ now, before it is too late.
